The experience of implementing a tool for SOX at my company is 3-4 years old, but happy to share some thoughts.
- We used sharepoint and shared drive folders for 2 years before we implemented a tool. So we were very clear at the time about what our pain points were and what we need the tool to specifically solve for us.
- As we requested demos and quotes from the likes of Auditboard, Workiva and a couple of others, we specifically look at the fiunctionalities that would solve our problems.
- At that time we like Auditboard the best and we went with them. The tool continues to serve our needs and is working fine for us.
Though there may be other tools in the market which have farily caught up with Auditboard in terms of functionality and use, it will evenutallu come down to which one solves your needs the best and the pricing. We did not need or use any implementation services from consulting firms. WE were able to get the tool set up directly with Auditboard. Their service team was great. And we were clear on how we needed the set to be.
Hope this helps.

I've just implemented AuditBoard for our FY2024 and we are very happy so far. I had the opportunity to work with it before and brought the idea to my team last year and they liked and the whole negotiation and process was incredibly easy, we went straight to the point of what we wanted and they got it. Implementation was also smooth, the technical support team was really nice to work with and they provided lots of insights based on best practice in the market. Of course, there are still many more features to explore within AB but so far so good.
Thanks,
Tati

We use SharePoint to house our control framework and keep a library of process narratives. We'd like to move to one of the dedicated Compliance modules on the market. We have briefly looked at products from several different providers (Workiva, FloQast, AuditBoard). Of course, they all say their product is the best solution.
I was hoping to get some input from actual users of these systems.
- What made you go with the choice you made?
- Are you still happy with your choice (why/why not)?
- Did the product deliver the improvements promised in the marketing materials?
- Are there specific features that you really enjoy or dislike?
- Did you have significant challenges during implementation?
- I listed 3 solutions; did you go with another choice?
I'm open to any input you might have (positive or negative).
Thanks
