Technical Accounting Manager

Reporting to the VP, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, the Technical Accounting Manager will be primarily responsible for conducting research and communicating technical accounting and reporting matters to ensure compliance with accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. (“GAAP”).  Duties will include the researching accounting issues and documenting conclusions, providing technical guidance for material transactions, assisting in managing annual and quarterly audit procedures, and maintaining effective Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Must be able to work independently and as part of a larger functional team.

 Principal Responsibilities

  • Researching accounting issues and preparing accounting documentation/memorandums to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Reviewing and providing technical guidance for material transactions and complex accounting issues
  • Supporting implementation of new accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory items as needed
  • Supporting the quarterly and annual close process and related disclosures
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist in managing quarterly reviews and annual audits with external audit firms
  • Assist in various ongoing and ad-hoc projects or initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Financial reporting experience in a public company, a division of a public company and/or public accounting firm
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
