How are companies tracking ESG Reporting requirements adopted at the individual country level? My company has subsidiaries across the globe and with both the CSRD and the ISSB subject to adoption by each individual jurisdiction, I'm trying to understand the best way to keep tabs on the latest developments. My understanding is that individual countries can modify the overall standards upon adoption to narrow the scope of entities subject to the requirements, for example, so it is important for us to understand when and how the different jurisdictions adopt these standards. How others are tackling this dilemma? Is the process driven by the Legal department? Is there a something that I could subscribe to that would notify me when an EU member state enacts CSRD into local law, for example? If anyone is willing to share thoughts/feedback/experience on this topic that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance and looking forward to further discussions!

Hi Madison-this is a great question and hoping a few more jump in to provide additional examples. Generally, from my experience-Legal teams are responsbile for maintaining a "legal register" of applicable laws/regulations for an organization-that might be a spreadsheet, a database, or even a service that's purchased from a vendor. This should include ESG related regulations. That being said, the Legal team is likely coordinating with the A&F/ESG/other relevant teams to make sure those regulations are applied/complied with accordingly. Most organizations I've worked with or spoken to are managing this through their ESG governance structure which includes representatives from these functions to help manage.
