I had a really great conversation today with @Mary Walter about the new IIA Benchmarking tool. I'm not sure how many of you are aware that the IIA introduced a new Benchmarking Hub in late 2024. The IIA has implemented a new process where they are continually accumulating benchmarking data from IIA members that is made available to subscribers to benchmark their team against other internal audit departments baed upon size, industry, geography, and a number of other criteria.
I remember the hours spent between my team members and me when I was a CAE, searching out this type of information for me to use with my audit committee and members of senior management to show how we were performing compared to peers, to help justify additional headcount, for performance reviews, etc. I wish I'd had access to the IIA Benchmarking Hub when I was still a CAE.
